Prism Edge Firmware Update 1.0.5

Prism Edge Firmware Update 1.0.5 resolves disconnection issues that were reported by some users and offers increased stability over previous versions. This update also introduces some quality-of-life improvements to the device.

Most Prism Edge devices have been automatically upgraded to this version but in some cases, we may ask you to update the firmware of your Prism Edge device manually. To do this, please follow these simple steps. The process should take around 5 minutes or less.

We recommend reading these instructions in full before beginning.

1. Download the 1.0.5 software update and save this file to a convenient location on your computer.

2. Connect your device to your Prism Edge using an ethernet connection, then log in to the device by pointing your web browser to http://myprism.tech (or alternatively, http://192.168.127.1).

If you don't know the password or are unable to remember it, you may need to factory reset the device. In this instance, you can refer to the base of the unit for the default password. If your unit does not have a password printed on the base, please factory reset and then access myprism.tech using an ethernet connection, and the default password will be shown on the first login.

3. Click "Firmware Upgrade" in the top menu, and then select 'Offline Upgrade'

4. Click the 'Upload' button, then browse for and select the 1.0.5 firmware update file you previously downloaded.

5. Once the file has been uploaded, select the checkbox next to your Prism Edge unit, and then click the 'Upgrade' button.

6. Once the router has rebooted, we strongly advise performing a factory reset of the device to remove old configuration from the unit and ensure reliable operation.

You can perform a factory reset by using a paperclip to hold the Reset button (on the back of the unit, near the ports) for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator light starts blinking red, then releasing.

Alternatively, you can initiate a factory reset from the device's web interface; under My Wi-Fi > Router Management > Click on 'List '> Click 'Factory Reset' beside the unit you would like to factory reset.

Once the device reboots, you're good to go! Keep in mind that any configuration or custom settings (including network name/SSID/key) will be re-initialised to the defaults printed on the base of the unit.
