Prism Edge Firmware Update 1.0.3

  • Updated

Update 1.0.3 resolves periodic drop-out and disconnect issues that were reported by some users and most Prism Edge devices have been automatically upgraded to this version.

In some cases, we may ask you to update the firmware of your Prism Edge device manually. To do this, please follow these simple steps. The process should take around 5 minutes or less.

1. Download the 1.0.3 update file (13MB) and save it to your device.

2. Connect your device to your Prism Edge using an ethernet connection, then log in to the device by pointing your web browser to http://myprism.tech (or alternatively, http://192.168.127.1).

If you don't know the password or are unable to remember it, you may need to factory reset the device. In this instance, you can refer to the base of the unit for the default password. If your unit does not have a password printed on the base, please factory reset and then access myprism.tech using an ethernet connection, and the default password will be shown on the first login.

3. Click "Firmware Upgrade" in the top menu, and then select 'Offline Upgrade'

4. Click the 'Upload' button, then select the 1.0.3 firmware update file you previously downloaded.

5. Once the file has been uploaded, select the checkbox next to your Prism Edge unit, and then finally click the 'Upgrade' button.

That's it! The router will reboot and your firmware has now been updated. Please now perform a factory-reset of the unit by visiting "My Wifi" > "Router Management" and then clicking on "Factory Reset", as illustrated below.

Please note that if your unit does not have a default password printed on its base, then you will need to connect to the unit with cabled-in (ethernet) connection after completing the factory reset - at which point the default password will be shown to you and can be changed.
