ASUS DSL AC68U Router Set Up Guide

 

Here’s how to set up your ASUS DSL-AC52U - DSL-AC55U Router for NBN and Fixed Wireless on the Pentanet network. Let’s go!

Before you begin:

You’ll need to know your PPPoE username and password which can be found in the welcome email we sent you. Not able to locate your welcome email? That’s okay - you can also find these details under settings in the “Services” tab in the customer portal (https://my.pentanet.com.au)

(EWAN - Settings)

(Note: This section is for Fixed Wireless, OptiComm, NBN (FTTP/HFC/FTTC) only.)

  1. Plug in the power adaptor and power on the device, making sure to also connect your phone line to the device’s DSL port.

  2. Use the supplied ethernet cable to connect a computer to one of the yellow LAN ports. You can also connect wirelessly, however we recommend ethernet connection.

  3. Open a web browser and browse to http://192.168.1.1. Use the following details to log in:

    • Default username: admin
    • Default password: admin (if these credentials have previously been changed, please use the new ones. If you don’t know the password and can’t log in, you may need to factory reset the unit)

  4. Under Advanced Settings and select WAN

  5. Click Dual WAN tab (skip to step 8 for RT-AC68U)

  6. Set Primary WAN to: Ethernet WAN | LAN Port 4 Note: (this will be the port that you need to connect your WAN Network cable into)

  7. Click Apply

8. Click Internet Connection tab

  1. Set WAN Connection type to PPPoE

  2. Select Enable WAN to YES.

  3. Enter your PPP Username and Password - this is your Pentanet authentication username and password, which you can find in your Pentanet welcome email. You can also find it in your customer portal if lost or forgotten.

  4. Click OK.

See below for VDSL configuration settings

(VDSL- Settings)

(Note: This section is for Fibre to the Node/Basement (FTTN/B) only.)

  1. Plug in the power adaptor and power on the device, making sure to also connect your phone line to the device’s DSL port.

  2. Use the supplied ethernet cable to connect a computer to one of the yellow LAN ports. You can also connect wirelessly, however we recommend ethernet connection.

  3. Open a web browser and browse to http://192.168.1.1. Use the following details to log in:

    • Default username: admin
    • Default password: admin (if these credentials have previously been changed, please use the new ones. If you don’t know the password and can’t log in, you may need to factory reset the unit)

  4. Under Advanced Settings and select WAN

  5. Click Internet Connection tab

  6. Set WAN Type to DSL and VDSL WAN (PTM) .

  7. Set WAN Connection type to PPPoE

  8. Select Enable WAN to YES.

  9. Enter your PPP Username and Password - this is your Pentanet authentication username and password, which you can find in your Pentanet welcome email. You can also find it in your customer portal if lost or forgotten.

  10. Click OK.
